I was walking alongside Jesus when he started to struggle carrying the big oak cross up the steep hill. I could imagine that this is how it really was all them years ago, if you took away the taco and candyfloss stalls. Jesus dropped the cross. I thought it was all part of the act until I saw the equivalent of a St John's Ambulence man getting out a tube of Salvon to rub on Jesus's leg, which ruined the illusion a bit. And all this was happening as a man dressed as a guard played the recorder, an instrument I thought was only played by four-year-olds. All in all it was really doing my head in.
